Scattered Brilliance

From my brain to paper (or pixels as the case may be)

Will Scrabulous be there tommorrow?

I’ve wasted alot of time over the last half a year playing Scrabulous with my friends through their Facebook app.  In fact, if it weren’t for Scrabulous, I may not have taken to Facebook with as much interest as I did.

For a long time as my network grew, Facebook wasn’t a social networking site.  It was where you went to play Scrabble.

Scrabulous

Now, Scrabulous is facing a cease and desist from Hasbro, the owners of Scrabble.  The chants of “Save Scrabulous” can be heard throughout the Internet’s social hotbeds.  All looked to be lost, but suddenly there seems to be a glimmer of hope at the last hour in the form of a buyout by Electronic Arts who owns the digital rights to Scrabble.

We can only hope this comes to an amicable ending.

My take, the worst thing Hasbro could do would be to find a way to kill the most life Scrabble has seen in years.  A heavy handed approach could do irreparable harm to the good name Scrabble, while a creative solution would have them considered hero’s by hundreds of thousands of influential social net denizens.
