The Last Lecture

I don’t really think I need to add anything to this, but wanted to post it somewhere personal so that I’d always have a way back to it’s words.  Thank you Randy and God Bless.

Trip to the New England Aquarium in Boston

Ryan and Dad at the aquarium

Today we took Ryan down to the New England Aquarium in Boston.  She had loved Finding Nemo so much and took a liking to a fish tank on our trip to the little children’s museum in Derry that we thought the Aquarium would be a slam dunk!

and it was!!!

Ryan spent about an hour and a half cruising the aquarium looking at all the marine life.  Her favorites were probably the penguins.  I think Happy Feet has made her a penguin fan for life.  But she also liked the various fish, turtles, and seals.  She had mixed emotions about the jellyfish, which she liked to say a lot, but wasn’t the most comfortable when actually in the exhibit.

Here’s our day chronicled in a little video:

My favorite part of the trip was on the way back to the car when Ryan, walking in between Jen and I holding our hands, looked up and said, “that was so much fun.”

Thanks New England Aquarium for a fun day and some great memories.

Jamario Moon wets our whistle on YouTube

The NBA dunk contest will be relevant again this year and it might be grass roots build up on YouTube that pushes it back there. It started with Rudy Gay calling out to the community to help choose his dunk (which I covered here). And there have been top ten dunk video montages put together and circulated for each of the four contestants;

Gerald Green, Minnesota Timberwolves (Defending Champion)
Dwight Howard, Orland Magic
Rudy Gay, Memphis Grizzlies
Jamario Moon, Toronto Raptors

But I stumbled on the icing on the cake today thanks to the community over at Yardbarker in Jamario Moon’s teaser video for a dunk that will knock your socks off.

Moon, an ex-Harlem Globetrotter who has a growing following of NBA faithfuls, shows off his stuff in a YouTube promo. Stick around until the end for the cliffhanger, it’s a little staged and cheesy, but totally worth it!

In case you missed it, here’s a screenshot of where Moon took off from for his two handed jam.

That’s just sick! The only way he could top that would be to pull an “Over the Moon” and dunk over himself!

I haven’t been this excited for a dunk contest in a long time. It’s about time the NBA made this hyphy again.

Mahalo Daily: State of the Union 2008 in 60 seconds.

Mahalo Daily’s done it again with a condensed recap of a long speech.

Personally, I thought the Steve Jobs’ recap was more entertaining and a little more on point to the overall message.

Or maybe Jobs is just a better and more cogent speaker than our president.

Or maybe Bush doesn’t use enough “booms”.

But then again, the day George Bush says “boom” is the day he “presses the button” and maybe that isn’t the best option either.

    Ford Sync Commercial

Just wanted to post a commercial that cracks me up every time I see it. When the lady walks into the door; priceless.

On a side note, I am interested in seeing Sync in action. If anyone has it in their car and wants to provide a review, let me know.

Skiing on the Yard with Bryon Friedman

Bryon’s blog on Yardbarker is a must for anyone interested in skiing! This video is sick.
